Brooklyn Dumpster and
Container Manufacturer Since 1946
Sam and Jack Cooper started Cooper Tank in Brooklyn, NY in 1946 as a local welding shop. It is still family-owned. Today we build roll off containers, hook lift boxes, front load and rear load dumpsters, compactors and specialty containers at two facilities, and sell them to haulers, property managers, municipalities and commercial operators nationwide.
Cooper Tank handles sales, distribution and repair from Brooklyn. East Coast Containers, our manufacturing division, designs and builds equipment in Waterbury, CT. Fabrication, delivery, parts and repair all stay in-house.

How Cooper Tank Grew
1946
Sam and Jack Cooper open Cooper Tank & Welding in Brooklyn, NY as a welding and steel fabrication shop.
Containers
The shop takes on waste containers for haulers: front load and rear load dumpsters, cable roll off and hook lift boxes.
Compactors
Self-contained and stationary compactors join the line, along with the receiving containers that go with them.
Waterbury
A second plant opens in Waterbury, CT under the East Coast Containers name, adding fabrication capacity.
WBE
Cooper Tank is certified by New York City as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise.
Today
Two facilities and 40+ equipment models, sold to haulers, property managers, municipalities and commercial operators nationwide.
