Sliding Roof Container
The sliding roof container has a retractable roof that opens for loading by crane, grapple, or excavator and closes to enclose the load for transport. The roof runs on heavy duty linear bearings in reinforced structural tracks, so one operator can open and close it, manually or hydraulically. A continuous rubber overlap seal keeps rain out when it is shut, and the closed roof takes the place of a tarp for loads that fall under DOT tarping rules. A 30-yard holds roughly 170 trash bags or about 9 pickup truck loads. Steel is 10 gauge standard with a 7 gauge heavy duty option, cable roll-off or hook lift compatible. It is used for construction debris, contaminated soil, and recyclable commodities. Sizes are 20, 30, and 40 cubic yards.
